WLI's 1,200-hour combined program allows you to complete your entire education — from your first facial to your first laser treatment — in one continuous program, at one school, under one roof.

What You'll Learn

The program has two phases.

The first 750 hours build your foundation. You'll learn European facial technique, skin analysis, waxing and hair removal, chemical exfoliation, makeup, and lash and brow services. The curriculum includes aromatherapy, Ayurvedic skin analysis, oncology esthetics (working safely with clients in cancer treatment), manual lymphatic drainage, nutrition science, and cosmetic chemistry. You'll also go deep into laser science such as light physics, chromophore targeting, tissue response, and the safety standards that govern every device in a medical spa.

The second 450 hours are hands-on focused. You'll operate lasers across many wavelengths, IPL devices, three types of radiofrequencies, HIFU (ultrasound skin tightening), microneedling, medium-depth chemical peels, and body contouring equipment. Washington Laser Institute owns over 25 Class IV medical devices, and every student trains on every one of them. This isn't observation or simulation. You treat real clients, under real physician supervision, with real results.

The school's owner, Dr. Emily M. Sabbagh, is a surgeon, laser specialist, and licensed Master Esthetic Instructor who has trained estheticians for medical practices across the region for over 14 years.

Our holistic curriculum draws from the Pacific Northwest tradition of European and naturopathic skincare. You'll learn to see the whole client — their skin, their health, their goals — not just the condition in front of you. Aromatherapy, Ayurvedic skin typing, nutrition, and oncology esthetics aren't electives at Washington Laser Institute; they are built into the core program.

Class sizes are small, and the student-to-instructor ratio is small during hands-on training.
